Donna,

I strongly suspect that your upgrades would be under the "OEM license", which is restricted to a single particular PC forever. Hence you'd have to buy 2 separate upgrades.

I think you'd likely be better off in terms of price and convenience to buy the retail version, clearly marked for 3 installations. I'd suggest uninstalling the trial version and rebooting. Then, installing the retail version on each PC. (Deinstall / reinstall may not be critical, but it can't likely hurt. And you'll know that you're running exactly what's on the CD, plus whatever bugfixes subsequently get downloaded.)

DETAILS:
I followed the link mentioned in comment#32: "Office Home and Student 2007 Retail License Terms allow for installation on three devices. OEM License Terms limit the installation to the device on which the software was pre-installed. » View licensing terms" . Then I clicked the latter link, then clicked on the 1st line of the resulting page: Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. Then, downloaded and executed the license terms package. Then, opened the
PDF file. (Whew!!!!) Within it, I see at the top that there are 3 different sets of license terms, and here's how to know which yours is:
"2007 MICROSOFT OFFICE SYSTEM DESKTOP APPLICATION SOFTWARE...
Below are three separate sets of License Terms. Only one set applies to
you. To determine which License Terms apply to you check the license
designation printed either on your product key, near the product name on
your Certificate of Authenticity, or on the download page if you obtained
your product key online. If your designation is FPP, then the Retail
License Terms below apply to you. If your designation is OEM, then the
OEM License Terms below apply to you. If your designation is MLK, then
the Media-less License Kit Terms below apply to you."

The Retail terms say "three devices". The OEM terms say "one
copy of the software on one device......The software license is permanently
assigned to the device with which you acquired the software. That device
is the 'licensed device'.”

Bottom line: I'm pretty sure the built-in copy will be the OEM ("Original Equipment Manufacturer") version, so you can only get a single copy, for use only on that particular machine, for the upgrade price.

Check the cost. It's probably a better deal to buy the retail version and do a clean install on both PC's, than to upgrade the OEM licenses individually, especially if you then want to run it on other computers later...

•	Hi, I am having problems with my remote keyless entry. I have Suzuki grand vitera 2009 model, I armed the car only to come back after three hours and could not disarm the car. I can get into the car with the key but not with the remote.
•	No vital signal showing on the odometer except that of the airbags and brake.
•	I have carried out checks on all fuses and alike, renewed the battery still the problems remained.
•	The car cranks but can not start

OK, I guess I'm not understanding...so, my question is...
If I have the trial version on my laptop that I bought at Christmas, can I upgrade that online AND install it on a second laptop that also has the trial version???

Or do I need to buy the Office Student & Home 2007 at a retailer and load it on my 2 computers (both laptops)??? (does the version on the computer need to be uninstalled??)

Or...is there something else i should do??

Thanks for your help!!!!

I posted a question in Google Webmaster Forum about canonicalization. The only person who responded said that if I have a site that Google is indexing as non-www and set the preferred domain in Google Webmaster tools to www, and do the 301 re-direct that that I could have a drop in indexing or ranking (although probably temporary). Is this there a chance of this happening?

Hey guys, I'm having a similar problem that a few ppl are having on here and have not been able to find an answer scrolling through. Doddie, kogeltje and salient. Would really like to hear the solution to your problems if you found them, I have a E8200 Clocked at 3.4Ghz at the moment but it just refuses to clock any higher at all! Not even 426*8!!!

Mobo: Asus P5QL - Pro
CPU: E8200
RAM: 4x1026 Crucial ballistix PC8500 1066Mhz
GPU: Asus 9800GT

Core temps
38C Idle
47/48C under load.
So i know its got pleanty more to give!!!

Voltages
Vcore: 1.25
RAM: 2.2
NB: Auto (but even at @ 1.4 no change in stiuation)
SB: Auto

Bios images of settings I have used and still not love,
http://i447.photobucket.com/albums/qq199/Wetwill1/Photo0026.jpg
http://i447.photobucket.com/albums/qq199/Wetwill1/Photo0027.jpg
CPU-z and asus EZ tune images
http://i447.photobucket.com/albums/qq199/Wetwill1/Loadchip.jpg

Ok so im stumped. I have raised my Vcore, FSB termination volatage, FSB strap to max to lower NB latency NB voltages, SB voltages, higher latency on ram, higher Voltages on ram and load line calibration to protect Vdroop.
Im still no higher than 3.4GHz
Doc, if you can help me i'd appreciate it. Is there something real simple im missing?

We have a corporate site, that we're considering breaking up into several smaller sites... I get the concept of doing this (more sites, cross-linking to one another should theoretically raise search rankings). What I'm not sure of is whether this is a good or bad idea.

To come up with unique Domains for each of these sites, we first have to devise unique product brands for each line of product that we break out as a separate site - we have multiple lines of product that currently fall under a single corporate brand

From a branding standpoint, I'm concerned we may well dilute and undermine our Parent/Corporate Brand in the process (which is established and known by name).

After doing all that, the new domain names will likely be longer and harder to remember than our current site URL.

So my question is, has anyone seen this approach (splitting a larger site into smaller, interconnected sites) work? Did it hurt, help, or was it a wash?

You have raised an important point here. Ine of our new clients registered lots of domain names and put the same site up on all of them. After looking into their analytics account they have very poor traffic levels and only receive traffic from their brand name. I presume they have been sandboxed for engaging in this sort of black hat activity so beware all those who have multiple domains. It is only worth it if the content on each domain is totally unique.

I have read all the comments and it has been a great help, but I am still short on a solution to my problem.

I think that I was heading down the "doorway pages" path until I read these comments!

I have been asked to take over and promote a site relating to solar installations. The problem is that the domain name does not really have huge relevancy to the product. So I jumped in a bought a few new domains that combined the word solar and local place names.

I then set up a one page site on one of these and left it for a while to see what would happen. Sure enough, if I now type in a search that includes the word solar and the place name, that site is right up there on the front page. And from my experience many people tend to search for products in this way so I am thinking that these new domains will be far more successful than the more obscure original.

So I thought that I would just use these domains to point to the lower PR main page, but having read all the comments I am now unsure that this is the right thing to do. It is not really a case of misdirection as the search is a very specific one and leads the searcher to the very product that they were looking for, but will the likes of Google see it this way?

So now I am stuck, do I just loose the old site, maybe putting a redirect (301) on that one and focus on one of the new domains, or would it be OK to put a few pages of relevant information on each of the new domains and a link to the main site which is only traversed should the visitor wish to do so? I.E. no automatic redirection.

Any suggestions of a reasonable solution for this dilemma would be well received!

Many thanks,

Mark.
