Man - I just don't know what to believe these days. I wish they would release it, because then I'd have something to write about. Now that supps are gone the pickings are thin :-D

Thanks John for your comments!

Yep, I've got to say I've got mixed feelings about the whole pay for post thing, but again, you're always going to have those rogues you mention who make MFA (made for adsense sites) to game the system....

I met one of them yesterday who has 20,000 sites that work on just that principle - but I think Google is getting much better at shutting down those kinds of operations.. he was telling me he's now moved to the porn business as MFA sites just don't pay the bills anymore - gawd :)

Hi Duck
Sounds like you had a great time. Are you sure this chap is really from Google? :-)

Just some comments (never can keep my mouth shut):

"if no-one visits a site, no one clicks on the ads - simple."
That's how MFA sites work -- only the content is terrible on purpose. The site ranks, the visitor comes, the site sucks, the visitor clicks on the ads to go somewhere else. Done. Set up 1000 sites like that and even if each one only gets one visitor a week (that clicks on the ads to go somewhere good) then it's enough to cover the expenses.

"By encouraging ‘everyday people’ to join the blogging revolution ..."
You mean like let people use a blog-service to set up their own blogs for free and make it easy for them to integrate Adsense? Now where have I seen that before ... :-)

Revenue sharing is something that will come more and more -- it will have to for things like video ads in YouTube; part goes to the publisher, part to the producer, part to the platform. I'm just worried about the 1/100th of cents that will be "rounded away". But we'll see!

Now where can I enter my Adsense-ID so that I get my share of the revenue for posting my comments ... (just kidding!!)

If you had straight links from the comment posters, you could use the link as a way of passing revenue to commenters; sell us a link for the price of a good comment. Heh. I should get a patent on that. heh.
