New Update to Blix Krieg WordPress Theme Makes it WordPress 2.1 Compatible
January 28th, 2007
The designers of the hugely popular BlixKrieg theme have today announced the release of a FREE updated version of this theme which overcomes incompatibilities with WordPress 2.1. With over 1000 downloads to date, this updated blix based theme is proving popular.
This upgrade corrects an incompatibility between the blix theme and wordpress 2.1, in which user defined pages were no longer displaying in the navigation bar. This Blix Krieg upgrade is fully backwards compatible with earlier versions of Blix and WordPress. We’ve also included the ability to easily turn the ads on or off.
Never used Google Adsense Before? Not a problem – it’s free to join and you can start making money right away, Just click the Join Adsense Button to the right – If you are like a lot of bloggers, and don’t aim to (or even feel guilty) about making money from your blog, donate it to charity!

Hi Folks!
I’m off for a drive – heading out to a place in Western Qld (Australia) for a few days R&R… Been a bit sick, so well needed rest.. If you have any issues with the new release of BlixKrieg, please post here and I (or another user) will help you sort it out ASAP – so far, so good, no complaints from over 1000 downloads of BlixKrieg, and 200 of the WP 2.1 enabled – good luck!

I found that your use of the new wp_list_bookmarks function to display the links did not format the title properly. The link icon showed on the side of the title
I could not figure out how to use the function properly, so I returned to the older get_links(‘-1’, ”, ”, ”, 0, ‘name’, 0, 0, -1, 0). If you know how to call wp_list_bookmarks without displaying the title, so I can display the title as before, let me know!
Thanks for the fixed theme for the upgrade to 2.1. I am not using Adsense, but am considering it now that I have a compatible theme.

HI Zachary!
Thanks for the heads up!
Yes, I spent a few hours the other day trying to get wp_list_bookmarks working properly, and couldn’t manage to either – I tried heaps of different ways, but it just seemed impossible (as you say) to get the ‘links’ menu to appear without a bullet point next to it..
I tried modifying the CSS – heaps of different ways – couldn’t do it. So, like you, I had reverted back to get_links (and this is what I’ve been using on this page since).
THANKYOU for letting me know that I had accidentally released the preproduction version of my new code. You will find that if you download the theme again, I have corrected the problem 🙂
Cheers and glad you are enjoying BlixKrieg!
Duck

It seems that a minor bug I found and fixed in the original Blix theme
still shows up in your version. Basically, in single-post view, sidebar.php calls with $p passed to $BX_get_recent_posts when $p is not defined anywhere. It wasn’t a problem for WordPress 1.5, but is a problem for 2.0 and 2.1.
