Ad-free BlixKrieg Theme Released
February 8th, 2007
The roll-out of Blix Krieg, a wordpress 2.1 compatible version of the famous Blix Wordpress theme continues to go very smoothly.
We’ve had over 1700 downloads of this theme over the last two weeks, and feedback has been outstanding.
Many of my fellow bloggers have very happy with the adsense capabilities I’ve added to the blix theme with this release of BlixKrieg, and most of you have worked out that you only need to comment out one line in the adsense.php file if you wish to turn ads off across your site.
Having said that, I’ve still had a few members of this site contact me to request an ‘ad-free’ version of the Blix Krieg theme… so, without further ado, I’ve released a version of Blix Krieg with the ads turned off by default -
This version can be downloaded below -

Thanks grubhound!
I’m onto it - I know exactly what you are describing and hope to have a fix out shortly.

yea there are WAY to many ads on this theme. thank for the clean one.

No Problems Jenny -
I realize the ads are not for everyone - but you have to realize that the adsense enabled version is fully and easily customizable - if you want to, you can remove the ads, change the size of the ads, make them images instead of text ads - just about anything - all from the one configuration file.
Naturally we’ve got loads of ads on this site to help pay for the development costs of the theme, but the real version (see our stable version at beta.utheguru.com) doesn’t have as many.
Cheers,
TheDuck

Sorry but the adfree theme file is missing. Gave 404 error with the download.

Hi Navjot - the problem is now fixed. Please try again.

Dear Mr. Duck,
Alas - the link to the “ad-sense” turned off version - just brings one back to the same page. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to find it elsewhere - and take care of my BlixKrieg jones
Thanks for the excellent theme.

JS - the link seems to be working fine here… try right clicking and selecting ’save as’ - or you might be clicking the permalink to this page by accident -
