Aaron,

Wordpress broke alot of the features you are talking about in a recent upgrade.

My suggestion would be to upgrade to the latest version of wordpress (2.3.1) and blixkrieg (2.3.1), and then apply your CSS changes one at a time to see where you might be making any snafu's.

Cheers,

Matt

Hey The Duck,

I hope that you are able to see this comment because I can't seem to connect with you via your contact interface.

First, I would like to thank you for a great theme. I loved using the original and now I can actually keep my site updated.

Unfortunately I am running into a few problems with your theme (v2.2) on my site: http://aarons.no-ip.org/

As you can see on the home page the rendering is off. Everything is shoved off to the side. Do you have any idea what config changes I might try to remedy this?

Also, I am having troubles getting the theme to hide listing my subpages along the top navigation. I have tried the usual adjustments in the sidebar.php file.

I appreciate any feedback you may have,

Thanks again!

Hi there,
I'm very glad to see, that you've started to keep the development of the BLIX-theme going. It's my favourite theme for my German "Standpunkt.e-Blog" (you may translate that as a kind of "Statement"-Blog). If possible, I will spend some time to help to improve BLIX. For me those themes are the most successful ones, that are translated in several languages. Authors of those themes have replaced the displayed messages by variables and packed the rest in this .mo and .po-files. So it's absolutely easy for people to translate it for their needs and having still the chance to upgrade easily.
The theme-author can put those language-files to the downloads and can be sure to get feedback from the world.
Is there any chance, that you do the programming stuff for that feature?
Another thing I'm waiting for is someone who makes BLIX fluid.
But for now: Thanks for a great job. Cheers

Thanks!

i worked it out - i should have spotted it really.

in the header file

the width was 681 (i just copied the header from my old theme) and making that 690 seems to have solved the problem!

Hi TJ - I've just spent about half an hour mucking around with that trying to work out what you've done, but I can't - sorry - I do think I have it sussed to a combination of two things -

1. Your header image is 685, the width of the container is 690 (something you should address).
2. One of your sidebar widgets (I think the search) is wider than the sidebar and is somehow breaking it.

Any css whizz's out there that can help?

If you want to change the asides, go to index.php and find the line that looks like:-

if(stristr($cat->cat_name,'asides')) {$Aside_Flag=1;}} ?>

and change 'asides' to whatever you'd prefer it to be :)

Cheers,

M

Heya - great theme - just upgraded to 2.2 and to your theme.

2 little questions -

as you will site at my site I have heavily and i'm sure not very gracefully edited the header - but it works and i'm happy with it however...if you look just between the "MITM Voting Community" sub content and header one of the little grey fade style (that separate the posts from sidebar) thing is a little offset to the left. Any idea how to either remove it or put it back inline?

Also is there a way to change the category that makes posts "asides" - i want it to be something like "side notes"

Many thanks.
Your welcome. Thank you for making us creative types a little more marketing savvy.

I have come more and more to the realization that there is no nobility in being a starving artist. Heck it is simply just irresponsible and unconscious to not take responsibility for the value of your work if you can. However, I can be easily guilty of not wanting to "bother with 'marketing' because I just want to focus on blogging and content because all that marketing stuff is for greedy, slick opportunists looking to make a fast buck"

You make it easy to begin to look at this as something simple, useful and available if we want it. I feel like you are a regular bloke and after seeing your video I know you are. :-) You make me feel like I too can be blogger responsible for the value of my blog, myself, and all the work I put into it.

The funny thing is I feel that people averse to being rich who think if they apply your suggestions that they will start raking in the money like fall leaves probably don't realize (myself included) that if they put in all their efforts they may only wind up breaking even. However, once you've broke even only then will you qualify for the possibility of making some real money.

These are my impressions anyway. Does this seem to jibe with your experience.
